John Boy

Named in honor of her beloved husband, Kenneth Milton Johnson, affectionately called John-Boy by her family, Janine recalls him admiring a rose with this yellow-pink coloration many years ago.  He was a truly wonderful man with many talents, including nurturing gifts from the land.  Born on a farm in South Carolina , he served in the Navy for 20 years and with Disney for 25.  He was taken to Heaven in 2004 and is surely tending the gardens of and fishing with our Lord and Savior.

We love the John Boy rose and know you will too.  It was chosen by Mrs. Kenneth Johnson from very special varieties offered through our "Rose Naming Program" (hybridized by Robbie Tucker).

John Boy is a true mini rose that has medium to dark matte foliage on a compact plant that grows to 2 feet tall.  It produces volumes of blooms that are great for exhibition and cut roses.   The combination of the plant shape with the multitude of blooms makes an extremely handsome plant in any landscape.
